Special edition for the high-end driving school Vehicle Dynamics in Avenel, NJ. The previous reviewer clearly did not read the book nor does he have a clue as to what this book is about.
Author Anthony Scotti with Vehicle Dynamics school in Avenel, NJ have trained governments, law enforcement agencies and military organizations to protect them selves while in a vehicle. He is acknowledged leader in high-risk driving. Though intended for the school, this book is a terrific reference for anyone wishing to improve their driving skills written by a top professional.
Frankly I was sadly disappointed by this book. It contains all the usual material, but when the author discusses vehicle dynamics he makes statements that are clearly just wrong and display a lack of understanding of the physics of vehicle dynamics. If you are looking for a book for a teenager just starting to drive, and your teenager is not too technically minded, this book may serve. If you are looking for a book that explains the dynamics of vehicle behavior in not-too-technical terms (with a minimum of mathematics) this is NOT the book you need. (Unfortunately, if your teenager grows into a technically minded young adult, the book will become less useful.)
I would be happy to discuss the problems with the current text if the author is interested in improving it for a future edition.
